About disability inclusion

Disability inclusion is about creating an inclusive workplace where people feel welcome and safe and where they are seen, valued, and appreciated for what they bring to the table, their expertises, and experiences. Disability inclusion in the workplace means understanding and addressing the causes of all these types of exclusion.

Create Future created a toolkit for diversity where the important points we have to have in mind to have a more diverse workplace are: 1) understanding the concept of diversity, 2) being aware of the unconscious bias, 3) diversity management, 4) guidance in the workplace, and 5) the benefits of diversity.

Once these important aspects are integrated and use in the workplace, it creates an environment with diversity to successfully lead a diverse work community, make a place safe, and open for everyone without exclusions. It is important to continue educating the community, learning the best ways to change, improve, and train to be a leader and example for others.

Training the Trainers

On 28th September, Inova Consultancy held the final ‘Training the Trainers’ session with the Create Future consortium in preparation for training sessions which are currently being piloted with the project’s primary target group: support workers, career advisors, mentors and teachers who support people with special needs or those who face a double disadvantage. The use of SMART goals and learning about using strengths to tackle weaknesses proved to be very popular amongst our facilitators in training. Not only was this session a great opportunity for training and reflection on our own practice but it also enabled us to develop further understanding within the partnership and ultimately build upon our team morale. Read below to learn more about the 3 coaching models that are currently being piloted in Finland at the LIVE foundation, with pilots soon to begin in Spain, Portugal and the UK.  Mentoring Circles ™ : Think-Reflect-Act Inova’s Circles ™ are an innovative form of personal de
